OKAY. So it’s been a year again, updating you all, I meant to do this months ago, but pregnancy nearly took me out.
Anyway, we have figured out how to make healing MUCH faster for people with CIRS or moldy people, or everyone honestly, because I cannot imagine a person that wouldn’t feel better with optimized air quality. Many people with CIRS or mold illness (whatever you want to call it) struggle for months or years trying to get their symptoms under control, and I believe it’s because their air isn’t good enough, even if they’ve moved and their environment is now clean. This indoor air quality issue is a serious housing issue that is impacting most people, and we’ve figured out a way to fix it.
ADD AN ERV TO YOUR HVAC PLUS ADD WHOLE HOUSE FILTRATION. It’s key. Even if you have a bit of mold hidden somewhere, this at least gets clean fresh air into the house.

HVAC’s usually only recirculate and air condition/heat indoor air. Which is insane. They advertise that they filter the recirculated air, but it’s just not good enough. The way houses are built to be sealed means we’re basically living in terrariums filled with paper (drywall) that gets moldy. So we upgraded our HVAC’s to ridiculously expensive ones with excellent filtration and moved to Arizona and bought a new house and repainted with ecos zero VOC air filtering paint and seriously cleaned the house, and took CSM, and it still wasn’t good enough to heal properly.

Eventually, we added an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator – any ERV will do) to the HVAC, plus a whole-house air filtration system, and I legitimately felt better in 48 hours. You could smell the difference in air quality.
- Add the ERV to your HVAC
- Add Intellipure or IQAir whole-house filtration to that system (we use Intellipure for the house and IQAir for the office for no particular reason)

So here’s a new list of things to do if you think you have CIRS, if you’ve been exposed to water-damaged buildings, or if you have any illness, or if you want to optimize your life. So everyone:
- Get out of the house that made you sick or at least fix the obvious mold problems.
- HUGE GAMECHANGER: ADD an ERV to your HVAC plus whole house filtration (so add two systems to your HVAC).
- Take cholestyramine (CSM). Be aware that these will make your symptoms go up and down while you detox. Having regular BM’s is mandatory. 4g 4x a day spread out for the average man and 4g 3x a day for a woman. Eat something fatty 30 mins after to produce more bile (it binds toxins in bile).
- Diet. If you’re super super sick, do the lion diet. If you’re not super sick, at least go paleo and cut out processed foods, or dairy-free keto, or whole foods without dairy and grains, that’ll help a lot.
- No shoes indoors, and keep things super clean.
- Take CSM again after any more exposures. All buildings suck. Take CSM after restaurants, even short exposures. I stopped using CSM and slowly started building up symptoms again because I wasn’t paying attention. I just started CSM again, and I can tell I’m detoxing. Oops. Stay on top of it.
- I also took fluconazole for candida, which can be caused by mold exposure and diet, for 6 weeks last year. This definitely improved my digestion. Even with the lion diet, candida was still there. It was finally picked up on a stool test that was sent to Africa, rather than our useless PCR tests that miss so many things. More on this soon.
We need a movement here. This is a massive problem. People should be complaining at their kids’ schools, universities, churches, offices, even hospitals have bad air, it’s insane.
Anyway, if restaurants, hotels, schools, etc. could fix their air that would be amazing, so spreading awareness is key, and I’ll be working on that continually until everyone knows this is a huge problem.
