“We believe that the PKD is the only evolutionary adapted diet for humans. Rehabilitation of chronic diseases is most effective when the diet is limited to our real physiological needs. Eating fruits and vegetables does not form part of our physiological need but are associated with risks.”

This place (Paleomedicina) has actual doctors prescribing a high fat meat diet to successfully treat chronic disease. With hugely positive results (much more effective than medication). They’ve treated pregnant women, infants, and breastfeeding women as well. They have found no ill effects of the diet (they call it paleolithic ketogenic, basically a fancy turn for a red meat diet).
Eventually North America will stop with the “it must be a placebo effect” and start actually treating people. Suuuuper exciting. Also extremely satisfying after years of “you’re crazy”. Extremely. Satisfying.
They have a website HERE. (It’s in Hungarian but you can use Google Translate). The case studies are incredible.
Sorry but it’s only a 4-week observations. All studies about long-term saturated fats and red meat eating point its harmful effects. It’s not even a study – there are no statistic methods listed.
Link one study here please that links red meat to harming health. Literally find one (that doesn’t include dairy, because dairy and meat are not the same thing.)
Love your blog. And the taste of beef. But since you asked, and nobody answered, I was curious and just found this, fwiw: Published last week on behalf of the European Society of Cardiology. https://academic.oup.com/eurheartj/advance-article-abstract/doi/10.1093/eurheartj/ehy799/5232723?redirectedFrom=fulltext
I read the study, and the protein content of the diet is only 25%. Protein content could be red meat, white meat or non-meat(dairy? tofu? beans?) There is no listing that I could see as to what sort of diet this was. That is a huge confounding factor because the rest of the diet could be crap/processed food. In Mikhailas context it would be more useful to see studies of carnivore diets. The study has not yet been published so details are scant
I just read the study again. 1. The link states: “Published: 10 December 2018” 2. The protein sources fed to three distinct groups were clearly defined as red meat, white meat, OR non-meat protein: “…three 4-week isocaloric diets (with washout period between each) were evaluated (all meals prepared in metabolic kitchen with 25% calories from protein) to examine the effects of red meat, white meat, or non-meat protein…”
3. There is indeed a mention as to the sort of diet,”…4-week isocaloric diets (with washout period between each)… “
If you click on the link to the actual study https://doi.org/10.1093/eurheartj/ehy799 then it comes up as “Production in progress” so no further information is available until that process is finished. Technically you are correct, it is published, actually though it is not published until you can read it. As it is we only have an abstract, which has scant detail on the components of the diet for example. As to the sort of diet, if you were to ask someone what sort of diet they were on and they said it was an isocaloric diet with 25% protein, what would you know about the diet? Would you know how much fat, or carbohydrates they were eating? Is that unimportant or important information?
Thanks for finding the study, I look forward to reading it when the details are released.
You’re welcome.
